This Research Associate position is a two year fixed-term post to promote excellent research by assisting a promising early career researcher to establish themselves in the field of international development (with particular reference to poverty; inequality or wellbeing). The successful candidate will contribute to a thriving community of researchers in the field of international development at the University.
You will recently have completed a highly regarded doctoral thesis, and have clear and convincing plans for future research, high quality publications and impact.
The Department of Social and Policy Sciences was rated second in the UK in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise, and been rated 5 or its equivalent in all previous assessments. The Centre for Development Studies at Bath has been a leading UK centre for research and postgraduate study in international development for more than thirty years. Research clusters include: well-being and human development; childhood, youth and the life course; markets, microfinance and inclusion; and insecurity and conflict.
The proposed start date of the position is 1 September 2014.
